Plain White Tee – Part Two

Continuing from this article on accessorizing your plain tee from the neck up, we’re moving down to dressing up the actually t-shirt.

We just got in this great crochet vest ($42) which is the perfect piece to toss in your closet and wear over a t-shirt, tank top, tube top, whatever you could come up with. The delicate crochet detail on the back adds a flirty little hint of style.

Another thing you could do with just a plain t-shirt is to dress if up with a jacket or sweater. Take this cardigan from Hard Tail ($88). The fabric is lightweight, breezy and perfect for the warm summer days or cool nights. This cardigan is a bit sheer, allowing it to pick up on the colors you are wearing underneath – so you can spice it up with a yellow t-shirt or just pair it with black.

For a jacket, this spark jacket from XCVI ($158) is great for giving off a hint of sassy attitude. The sides are studded with brass dots, giving it a high-fashion touch and this jacket looks great over a tank top, t-shirt, pretty much anything that you could imagine to pair with it.

Looking Stylish with Cropped Cargos

One of today’s hottest trends is pairing a basic utilitarian pair of cropped cargos with a great heel (usually in a more neutral color). The pairing of something with such an accepting cut/fit and heels will add much class and a hint of casual sexiness to your look.

Here are a few tips on what to pair with each style of cargo pants:

For loose/cuffed cargo pants – go with a strappy heel to show off the gorgeous calves that you have and make your legs look a mile long. Every head will turn in your direction.

For straight leg or super skinny cargos – you can’t go wrong with a heel that has a hint of bling, they play nicely off of each other. Don’t over do it though, these Nicole sandals would be perfect!

When you’re wearing a cargo with more of a hint of volume and slouch, try wearing a chunky wedge to balance out the volume. This style is great if you’re a little self-conscious about your body as it disguises whatever parts of your body you might be a little worried about.

We have some great XCVI cropped cargo pants in store that will be perfect for whatever look you decide to pull off. Stop in today and check out our selection (we get more and more in everyday).

We also just got some great new items in from Yummie Tummie and Hard Tail!

Walking Tall – The Illusion of Cropped Pants

For most women, we all have problems areas. For myself, being 5’2″, it’s my legs. I don’t want to wear high heels everyday for the rest of my life, so what other options are there to looking taller? It’s simple:

Cropped pants.

Now, cropped pants can be tricky. If you pick the wrong style for your body, it can actually make you appear shorter (we’re here to help prevent that thought)!! If you’re looking to elongate your body, then go for a style that is more fitted and tapered at the bottom, like the style below. We have several different varieties in store, so we’ll be able to match the perfect pair to your body type.

Here are a few other tips for you:

  • Wear them with heels! It adds a touch of class to your outfit, plus, it will make your calves look amazing.
  • Choose neutral colors. Besides being able to match your pants to almost anything in your wardrobe, you’ll have the added benefit of seeming slimmer on bottom.
  • Wear them to work or on the weekends. Cropped pants can be dressed up or down, all depending on what shoes and tops they are paired with.
