Now that the heat has finally broke here in North Carolina, it’s time to start thinking about your fall clothing options. What will you wear to keep you warm and cozy on the upcoming cool days?
Layering is one of the best ways to keep yourself warm without being bulked down with too much. Just because it’s cold doesn’t mean you have to stick your tank tops in storage.
We just got in these spaghetti strap tank tops from NikiBiki and already they are flying out of the store. They are seamless, soft and super stretchy (one size fits all), perfect for wearing alone or under a top. I know I wore mine all weekend when I lounged around the house in sweatpants.
Worn for decoration (have a hint of the tank top poking out from under your shirt) or for warmth, you really can’t go wrong with throwing on a tank top.
it’s Saturday, 9/11/2010…a day for remembrance, observance and evolvement. It’s Fall here in NC…or at least it feels like it…time for change…time for growth… Football teams and their admirers are hip hooraying in the High Schools and Colleges. I’m hoping as this day ends…we will get inspired to move forward…to evolve from what we have been and where we have been. Growth is all too important for our nation. It doesn’t have to be big or glamorous…it just needs to be growth…not just commercial…but personal growth. As for me…I have alot of growing left to do. Let the journey begin!:)
Gray is almost more of a blank slate than white is. It’s neutral, calming and is completely adaptable to a wide range of colors and styles. Gray can be dressy, casual or funky – it’s a chameleon. Want to wear gray but unsure of how to pull it off without look blah? Well, keep reading for our tips and hints.
- Pair gray with either white or black for a classic, sophisticated look. Or stick with other shades of gray for a contemporary touch.
- Go for bright accessories. Since you’ve started with such a neutral, you can pair it with colorful shoes, jewelry, belts or scarfs (just made sure you don’t go overboard on the colors – you aren’t a box of crayons).
- When you wear gray, try to go for a gray that a little more on the metallic side. Avoid bluish/dull grays, it’s hard to find a skin tone that it will look good with.
This gray tube dress from Weston Wear is a fast favorite. It would look great with a bright, thick belt around the waist or a chunky necklace. Or you can even pair is with a black sweater and black heels for a grown-up look perfect for any occasion.

Stores are already stocking their shelves with the newest arrivals for fall, while we are all still sweating from this humid North Carolina weather. So what’s the hottest up and coming trends? It’s looks like military is back in style again, focusing on neutral colors (creams, blacks, olives) with an urban feel.
Like this Marzipan colored Pinocchio coat from XCVI which is stated to arrive the end of this month made of felted wool (same coat as below).
It’s chic, comfortable, stylish and can go with almost anything.
