The Final Touches – Accessories

We’ve brought you the best little black dresses and the most stylish shoes to wear when you go see Sex and the City 2 this weekend (if you haven’t been granted a preview – that is), so now all that’s left to do is to round out your outfit with a few great pieces of jewelry.

These bangles (a steal at only $14, also available in a gold tone) are a great way to finish off any outfit, whether you’re going for dressy or casual. The tiny beaded hints of color will match any shoes that you choose to pair with your LBD without being overkill.

Anything from Seasonal Whispers is going to impress your friends with it’s exotic (yet somehow familiar) style. The elegance and class is evident in the pieces, making it suitable for such a movie. We have a great selection in store for you to browse and try on, like these stunning earrings below.

Since you went classy and simple for your dress, you can afford to go a little wild with your jewelry. If you go with a neutral-tone shoe, you can even go a little crazy with color. Chunky pieces like this Kenda Kist necklace, priced at $65, is the perfect mixture of texture, color and style. It’s a fun, flirty necklace, something that you can easily see Carrie wearing!

Whatever you end up wearing, just remember to have fun ladies!!

The Perfect Shoes for Your LBD

Fashion plays such a large part in the whole Sex and the City franchise, so it’s no wonder that you want your feet to look as smashing as possible! To follow up from yesterday’s post on the little black dress, we’re going to give you a few great shoes to wear for however you celebrate the release of the long-awaited sequal.

First off, you MUST get a pedicure, or at the very least, paint your toenails! Regardless of whether you’re wearing peep-toe or closed toe shoes, have your nails done. You’ll instantly feel more glamorous. My suggestion? You can’t go wrong with a dark red on your nails or even a delicate pink.

These pumps from Poetic License (on sale for only $64.50!) are the perfect pop of color for your LBD (also available in black, for someone who wants style without committing to the color). Color works well when you’re starting with basically a blank canvas (i.e. the solid dark dress). Just go for small bursts of a bright color paired with simple accents (such as silver bangles).

The sparkles on this Francesca Wedge from Apepazza ($135) will add a sense of sophistication and sass to your outfit. Bling is a nice little added touch to any outfit (in moderation, of course). The key is always to not overdo it, so don’t wear hot pink shoes completely covered in rhinestones. You want to look classy, not trashy.

Check back tomorrow to find out what accessories to wear in order to complete your outfit!

LBD – Little Black Dress

With Sex and the City 2 opening this week, it’s time to start planning your outfit – you know it has to impress! While some women may bust out the best and most expensive clothing choices from their closet (or even go out and buy a whole new wardrobe), you really can’t go wrong with a simple black dress paired with some great accessories.

We’ll going to spend the week going over the perfect LBD, the best accessories and the perfect shoes for Sex and the City 2 that will make all of your friends jealous.

So whether you’re sipping on a cosmo or munching on movie popcorn, we know you’ll look stunning with our suggestions!

Green Dragon Black One-Shoulder Dress

Don’t go overboard with your LBD. A few simple accents like the two dresses pictures are good – they won’t attract any attention from your beautiful accessories and figure. It is a movie, so you don’t want to have to be uncomfortable in your seat with tons of tulle or heavy accents. These two dresses in particular are made with a light, breathable fabric (perfect for the humidity), that won’t stick to your skin as you’re dancing the night away after the show.

Hot Trends – Tie Dye!

Once upon a time, tie dying was considered to be just for the hippies. A sign of their rebellion against authority. Eventually, tie dye went out of style and so did the practice of staining your hands from attempting to dye your socks in the backyard (still fun to bring around for kids birthdays though).

But now, tie dye is back with a vengeance in a hip new way. Fresh colors, funky dyed patterns, tie dye is being seen on everyone from your friend down the street to supermodels and celebrities. The question is how can you wear something tie dyed without looking more like a hippy than a fashionista?

Start simple, like with these great tie dye scarves ($48). They add a simple punch of color, go with almost anything and because they are such a simple accessory, you won’t have to commit to a trend that you might not be sure of.

When you think that you’re ready for a step in the more obvious direction of tie dye, check out this simple top from Miss Match ($35). The fabric is light (perfect for the humidity), and the simple blue/white tie dye pattern won’t scare away your friends. It’s a cool design, more moody than groovy. Today’s tie dye enthusiasts seem to go for a more of just bleaching colored clothing than dying.

Overall, the key is to just not overdo it. Don’t dress head-to-toe in tie dye, just focus on one main piece and stick with solids for everything else. If you wear a dress, make sure all of your accessories are neutral.
